Jim Mundorf, Lonesome Lands
I am fifth generation farmer on my Dad's side and I don't know how many generations my Mom's side goes back in this part of the country, but I am pretty sure if you go digging deep enough you'll find my farming roots go back to Adam. I grew up on my families farming and cattle operation in Southwest Iowa. I have an Associates Degree in Marketing and a Bachelors Degree in Communication. I was a Journalism minor for a year, that is where I developed a love of writing and a hatred of Journalists. After college I started The Drover House, where I sell my own Longhorn artwork. I have been operating The Drover House for 12 years now all the while working with my dad and brother on the family farm.

A native of Evergreen, Colorado, he earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Colorado State University in 1975. He later moved to St. Francis, Kansas, where he started farming and ranching. He and a small group of investors built a cattle-feeding operation there in 1978. In 1986, he left that operation and built his own independent 12,000-head feed yard nearby.
